A Positive Start To The Season

A 1st at the BSA Slalom Grand Prix, a 2nd at the Anglo Scottish Slalom races and a  4th at the Anglo Scottish GS races.  Weather conditions were varied with rain, snow. sun and warm temperatures.  After missing out on last seasons training, this was a very positive start and one that I feel I can build on for the season ahead.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Snow and Rock for my sponsorship deal after winning the Hemel Champs in September.  The championship was for all the members of the Hemel Ski Racing Club and for all categories.  The race consisted of 2 slalom and 2 GS courses with the  fastest timed runs from each discipline counting.  My times meant that I won the overall female race and for being 1st in the Under 16's category I was able to receive the sponsorship package from Snow and Rock.

Spirit FM Local Hero Awards 2012

I had the privilage of attending the Spirit FM Local Hero Awards on 19/10/12 and it was a pleasure to receive the award for Child Achievement for my efforts in skiing.  I also received a cheque for my chosen charity/community group from Spirit FM on behalf of Sponsor TJ Waste, the company supporting this category.  I have chosen the Skiers Club of Great Britain and Chichester Youth Wing Canoe and Kayaking Club to receive the donations.  It was an amazing evening and I would like to thank Spirit FM, Terry and Lynn from TJ Waste for their hospitality at the dinner table and Matt Cardle (X Factor) for presenting me with my cheque.  It was truly a memorable evening and I am in awe of all the other winners in all the other categories for their achievements and braveness.

I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Wiley, a Book publishing company which is based locally to me for their generous contribution towards my training costs.  The interest of all my sponsors, supporters and family is so important, as without this it would be impossible to achieve my goals.  In return I will train as hard as I can and race as fast as I can to achieve this.

What a great way to finish the season - I considered this to be one of my best  achievements of the year, I wasn't expecting such a good time,  all I wanted to do was just make sure I completed the course, all the way down I was just thinking absorb and extend the rollers, but to win the title topped off my season.
